Profound gratitude to Dr. Chintamani Godbole, a young and dynamic surgeon who is a beacon of hope for countless like me battling the dreadful disease called cancer. My journey with cancer led me to Dr. Godbole who reassured calmness and helped me navigate the tumultuous outburst of emotions that accompany a cancer diagnosis. His expertise as a colorectal surgeon, robotic surgeon and gallbladder specialist, his mastery in surgical techniques with precision minimizing invasiveness of procedures facilitated faster recovery. Under his skilled hands, I felt safe and confident, knowing that I am in the care of a true expert. Dr. Godbole, thank you for leaving an indelible mark on my life. My experience with Dr. Chintamani Godbole, surgical oncologist for colon cancer, has been the best ever in my life with any physician so far, and I did meet a few good ones in my life, but none compares to him in an all rounded way.
My experience with him began over the phone from a foreign land, since surgical practice was lagging behind there and I was in need of an immediate colectomy due to a cancer tumour in my colon. From the very first moment of our contact he made it completely clear that he was completely accessible without prejudice and the interest of the patient was paramount. My hospital estimate and admission invitation for visa were arranged within 24 hours, without me having to talk or write to any management person at all, that was how much beyond the call of duty Dr Chintamani came forward for me. Whereas I had been trying to contact in vain another famous for cancer hospital already for a month without any respectful response. Later he did much more including guiding my wife about where to find good quality groceries in that city unknown to us, and giving contact of a reliable caterer who delivered safe home cooked meals, he even used his contacts to help us when we were having difficulties finding a suitable accommodation in that unknown foreign city. That's the kind of a person he is.
As a surgeon and a physician he is impeccably skilled, strictly ethical, astutely open to multi disciplinary discussions and suggestions and learning from his colleagues even during an active treatment process. His unique approach saved me from two additional surgical processes. Which was an immense blessing for me since I was already in a very badly weakened condition due to three months of no fibre liquid diet and a stroke before that, just prior to the big surgery. It was Dr Godbole's daring humility, courage to be patient and heed to the suggestions of his learned  colleagues of multi discipline, that saved me from those two additional surgical processes. He knows to put the patient's all around well being and comfort at the top of all other concerns. And he works with a team of multi-disciplinary medical and surgical experts. This unique approach of his sets him apart.
His another very unique approach is to keep direct sms and phone contact with the patient bypassing hospital or nursing buearaucracy and even private secretaries. This gives emergency and prompt patient care a new meaning because nurses stations become beholden to the patient's ever changing needs due to the doctor's direct call to them based on the patient's direct communication with him. Everybody knows how inadequate nursing could be even in expensive private hospitals in South Asian hospital culture. Dr Chintamani has an understanding of all that and a working mechanism for bypassing all that for the well being and comfort of his patients.

My father was operated for colorectal cancer.  Dr Chintamani Godbole was very supportive throughout the process. He gives the very much essential psychological support to the patient. He has clarity in his diagnosis and judgement and explains all the details to patient and relatives so that they feel assured. All our doubts were cleared before the surgery. My close relative was diagnosed with rectal cancer and the doctors we visited previously had scared the patient and almost misled us, insisting that a permanent lifestyle change (permanent ileostomy) was inevitable.
However, when we approached Dr. Chintamani Godbole, he studied the case and drew up a treatment plan that led to recovery without any permanent lifestyle change. He communicated the issue in detail, in layman's terms, alleviating all worries, panic and fear surrounding cancer. His treatment plan included radiation,  chemotherapy and surgeries which were spaced throughout the year.
Dr. Godbole was involved every step of the way, tracking the patient's health throughout the complete treatment.
Post completion of the radiation sessions and about a month of resting period, Dr. Godbole conducted the minimally invasive robotic surgery for Rectal cancer at Jaslok Hospital. It was a complex procedure which took more than 5 hours but was brilliantly executed which avoided permanent ileostomy.
The post-surgery care was handled by Dr. Godbole and his team extremely well and the home care instructions were properly explained. After a brief healing period, chemotherapy sessions were conducted, followed by the Ileostomy reversal surgery, executed by Dr. Godbole.
I would highly recommend Dr. Godbole for any colo-rectal surgeries. He and his team of doctors, diagnosed and managed the overall treatment over the last 8-10 months in an accurate and efficient manner, leading to patient's complete recovery. Few doctors truly take this level of effort for their patients, including his reassuring manner, calm composure, excellent bedside manners or his sheer brilliance as a surgeon.

Dr Godbole performed my surgery for Rectal cancer. Right from before surgery he was very prompt in answering questions. Surgery was laparoscopic and went very smoothly and i was discharged in 6 days. I had a bowel resection surgery. Dr. Chintamani sir has been like god for me. He didn’t even say a negative word and everything went positive. Firstly I was so scared of this surgery but with His confidence I was able to stay positive. I am now very healthy and fine just because of Dr. Chintamani sir. Amazing personality as well.
